Luis Suarez’s knee problems are so bad the former Liverpool and Barcelona star could be forced to retire and be fitted with a prosthesis

Gremio president Alberto Guerra disclosed that the Uruguayan great, who is 36 years old and plays for the Brazilian club, has daily injections to manage the severe discomfort he experiences so that he can continue to train and compete for Gremio.

It is said that he may be forced to hang up his boots owing to a reoccurring knee ailment that has plagued him for years, and that he may evern have knee replacement surgery to help repair the issue – an operation that is comparable to the treatment that Andy Murray had to fit a bionic hip bone. But this is only a rumor.

The head coach of Gremio was speaking at a gathering with fans when he declared, “Luis Suarez is reaching the limit.”

In order for him to be able to play, he administers special injections and therapies to himself nearly every day; yet, he is in continual discomfort. It is a major problem.

Suarez is a candidate for receiving a prosthesis, therefore this option is available to him.

It has been reported that Suarez will meet with Gremio in the coming days in order to come to an agreement over his departure from the squad. At the same time, Suarez is contemplating whether or not he will be able to continue his career.

Suarez signed a contract with Gremio in January that will keep him playing for the club until 2024. Since making his return to South American soccer with Gremio, Suarez has been a sensation, tallying 14 goals and eight assists in 26 matches.

However, this is not the first time that he has experienced problems with his right knee. While he was playing for Barcelona, he underwent surgery on his meniscus, which forced him to sit out of action for a number of months.
