But according to certain sources, the Saints have no intention of selling Livramento despite the fact that they have dropped down to the Championship.
The demoted club from the south coast has a much higher value on the young fullback than Newcastle does; the Magpies are rumored to have made an offer of £25 million for him, whereas the Saints place a value of £50 million on him.
After spending the previous two seasons with Southampton after moving there from Chelsea, Livramento was only able to make two appearances in the Premier League due to an ACL injury that he sustained during the previous season.
