Read Up “Southampton defender Jack Stephens signed a two-year contract.” The 29-year-old has signed the new contract, extending his loyalty to the organization that dates back to 2011.
Stephens has made 151 appearances for Saints since his debut at the age of 17.
Regarding his new contract, Stephens exclaimed, “I’m very happy.”
“It’s wonderful to get everything worked out before the season begins; it basically frees up my time so I can concentrate on playing football and hopefully have a successful season.
“I believe there was a lot of confusion about what was happening throughout the summer. It was a simple decision for me to sign the deal, and I’m extremely glad. However, I had some excellent chats with the manager, and he made it plain that he wanted me to stay. I’ve loved working with him these first few weeks, and I’m really optimistic that we’re going to have a terrific season.
One of Pep Guardiola’s most dependable generals has returned to the Man City bench, giving him encouragement.
Juanma Lillo, a Spanish coach who previously worked for City’s backroom staff for two seasons beginning in the summer of 2020, has re-joined Guardiola’s coaching staff.
The 57-year-old left the Premier League giants a year ago to take the head coaching position at Al Sadd in Qatar, but has since returned, much to the manager’s joy.
On City’s official website, Guardiola, who played alongside Lillo at Mexican club Dorados, said: “Juanma sees things no one else in the game sees. He has a profound understanding of football, making him the ideal teammate for me.
He has always been an inspiration to me; our shared ideologies, along with his football expertise, intelligence, and kindness, make him a very special person in my life.
He is an inspiration, a friend, and a coworker. I’m overjoyed that he’s back at Manchester City.
His match preparation is really incredible. Due to his tireless efforts each and every day, I am confident that he will increase the bar.
