After Sadio Mane’s departure to Bayern Munich last week, Jurgen Klopp and his coaching staff are actively searching for another forward. After signing Darwin Nunez from Benfica this summer for a club-record fee of £85million, Liverpool are now pursuing another player from the Primeira Liga.

Otavio

The Mirror reports that Porto expects Liverpool to make a formal proposal of roughly £34 million for Otavio this week. However, it is understood that the Dragons are open to proposals starting at £38 million for the Portuguese winger. While Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp’s team has shown an interest, Premier League club Leeds have also shown an interest.

If a new offer is made this week for Otavio, the Portuguese club has already rejected a £26 million proposal from Chelsea. To replace Raphinha, Leeds manager Jesse Marsch has begun scouting for a successor outside of Elland Road. Arsenal have been linked with a bid for the Brazilian midfielder in recent weeks.

Mikel Arteta wants to bring him to the Emirates, but his team has already had an offer rejected. The talks about a deal are reportedly at an advanced stage, and they plan to make a new offer later this week. As a possible replacement for Raphinha, Leeds are also interested in signing Cody Gakpo from PSV Eindhoven. The £26 million price tag for the Dutch winger is more reasonable.
