Recently, new information about the reasons why he hasn’t signed a new contract has come to light. It is alleged that during negotiating an extension, he agreed to a wage reduction, but United delayed signing it and then instructed the goalie to negotiate a lower salary.

The Spanish player’s future at the club is unclear, particularly in light of rumors that the Red Devils are considering replacing him with Inter Milan’s Andre Onana.
