Brentford vs. Spurs – On Tuesday night, Brentford travel to North London to face Tottenham Hotspur in the League Cup semi-finals ,Brentford will be optimistic of winning and reaching their first EFL Cup final since 2015.

Tottenham overcame a mini-slump this weekend by thumping Leeds 3-0. The win, their first in the Premier League since December 6, put them back into the top four. The League Cup semi-final run for Jose Mourinho’s side was cut short. They got a bye in the third round when Leyton Orient withdrew owing to numerous COVID-19 positive tests. Spurs have three less games than Brentford in this competition.

Tottenham beat Chelsea on penalties in the fourth round and beat Stoke City 1-3 in the quarter-finals. The Bees have started the 2020-21 season well. Southampton, West Brom, Fulham and Newcastle have all beaten Thomas Frank’s squad in the Premier League. They’ve also been strong in the EFL Championship.. The Bees haven’t lost since October 24 and are 15 games unbeaten. Their most recent win came vs Bournemouth. Their match against Bristol City was postponed this weekend, so they’ve had more rest.

Tottenham have only faced Brentford once recently, in the League Cup in 2000-01. The Bees drew 0-0 in the first leg of the second round, but lost 2-0 the following week at White Hart Lane. Jose Mourinho would aim to have a strong side, but he is still dealing with ailments. Tottenham will be without injured midfielder Giovani Lo Celso and striker Gareth Bale. Some claims claim Erik Lamela has COVID-19, however this has not been proven.

Brentford vs. Spurs – Betting Analysis

Tottenham have a chance to reach their first domestic cup final since 2015, but it could also go wrong. We know Brentford will not be easy to beat and will fight more harder than Stoke did two weeks ago.  But Jose Mourinho’s team must be big favorites. Tottenham have a much superior team on paper than Brentford, who are on a fantastic run. Their next Premier League game isn’t until January 13th, so they should be focused. With that in mind, a close win for Tottenham appears likely.
