After grabbing the ball from Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy and transferring it into an open goal, the 21-year-old scored Leeds’ first goal.

He told NBC Sports after the game, “The message was we are going to press them, not stand back, we are going to go after them and that sums up this goal.”

In response to a question from Tim Howard about the urgent advise Jesse Marsch provides them, he responded, “I guess who wants it more?”
Brenden Aaronson celebrates scoring Leeds’ first goal.

Jesse often talks about taking this last step. With [RB] Salzburg, I acquired the expertise; today, the entire team is doing the same, and it is paying off.

‘To start with, it’s a dream come true. I couldn’t have asked for a better team, fans, or set of guys that were so friendly.

We are playing for Premier League teams, scoring goals and assisting on them, and we are also involved in coaching, which proves to people all around the world that Americans can play football, too.
Aaronson scores his first goal in the Premier League, and Jesse Marsch congratulates him, saying, “There’s more and more potential, it’s a terrific start and it’s going to get better.”

Aaronson’s goal, the first by an American for the team in the Premier League, was immediately followed by a Rodrigo header from a Jack Harrison, and in the second half, Rodrigo did the same for Harrison to make it 3-0.
Leeds moved up to second place after the win and now have seven points from their opening three games.

Sunday was only Aaronson’s third Premier League game for Leeds, and he’ll want to replicate some previously productive Americans in the Premier League. Aaronson snatched the ball off of Chelsea’s Edouard Mendy before tapping the ball in.

In the Premier League, Clint Dempsey concluded his career with 57 goals while Brian McBride scored 36.

Chelsea’s replacement player Christian Pulisic, who came on in the second half, has 19 points right now.

This season, Marsch has helped Leeds get off to a strong start.

The club’s third American manager in the Premier League is Jesse Marsch, who joined the organisation as manager last year.

Prior to him, the league had David Wagner and Bob Bradley as coaches.
