Following the passing of his father earlier this month, Millwall has today officially announced James Berylson as the club’s new chairman.
John Berylson, an American entrepreneur who was appointed chairman of Millwall in 2007, passed away on July 4 due to injuries sustained in a car accident in the United States. He was 70 years old.
Before the start of the 2023–2024 season in the Sky Bet Championship, his son James, who has been on the board of directors at The Den continuously since the year 2010, will now take over as chairman.
On the website of Millwall Football Club, he paid respect to his father by writing, “It is with sincere and immeasurable pride that I take on the chairmanship of this great football club.” He then took over as chairman of the club.
“It is what my dad wanted, and I am so thankful for his mentorship ever since I joined the board of directors in 2010. I am blessed by his trust and faith in me,” she said. “It is what my dad wanted.”
