Check Out “Romelu Lukaku update after our morning report.” The striker will now return to Chelsea on Monday, July 17, according to the club’s most recent announcement.

After the conclusion of his loan stint with Inter Milan, Lukaku was supposed to report back to Stamford Bridge on this coming Thursday.

However, the striker is adamant about returning to San Siro on a permanent basis and has stated that he has no interest in playing for Chelsea again.

The player is keeping their fingers crossed that a contract with Inter will be finalized before then, but Matt Law from the Daily Telegraph reports that Chelsea have pushed back his return date by one week.

It is unknown which party, Lukaku or Inter, demanded that his return be postponed, but there is optimism “from both sides” that an agreement with Inter can be reached before the deadline.

And so it appears Lukaku will not return to Chelsea, officially, after all.
