Check Out “If they want Harry Maguire to leave Manchester United, they may have to let him go for free.” That is what Red Devils supporter and YouTuber Mark Goldbridge claims in his most recent online column.

Maguire’s loss of the captain’s armband, according to Goldbridge, indicates the end of his time at Old Trafford; the only issue is, who will buy him?

The talkSPORT host claims that “Harry Maguire’s removal as Manchester United captain was a ruthless move by Erik ten Hag… it was essentially a public humiliation for him.”

It was almost like an exit tweet, but I can’t think of any other club, let alone Manchester United, where a player stays and publicly tweets how much they’ve enjoyed being the captain.

“Maguire must now realize he needs to go elsewhere, especially if he wants to keep his England spot. It must have been a bit of a shock for him.

“Due to the wages, it will be challenging. He earns £200,000 each week and will be 31 this season. He continues to be the starting center back for England, and United will demand £40m or £50m. Who would want to pay both that and £200,000 every week?

“Anthony Martial is yet another player we are forced to keep because of his enormous salary. To put it bluntly, what kind of fool would purchase a player that sustained six injuries in one season? If United doesn’t do what other teams have in the past and write it off and pay off his contract, he won’t be marketable.

“I don’t see what United will do with him, and I also don’t see him travelling or participating in the plans. He is yet another player we will lose to free agency after another year.
