Ghana vs Madagascar–Ghana will face Madagascar at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium on Wednesday in the first match of their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualification campaign.
The Black Stars are coming off a victory against Nigeria in March that earned them a spot in the 2017 World Cup, while the visitors haven’t played since November.

Ghana last played in March, when they beat West African rivals Nigeria on the away goal rule to secure a spot in the 2018 World Cup in November.

After a goalless draw in Kumasi, William Troost-Ekong scored a penalty midway through the first half to cancel out Thomas Partey’s 10th-minute opener in front of the home crowd, but the Black Stars held on to defeat the Super Eagles and book their place in Qatar.

This came after a disastrous campaign in the Africa Cup of Nations in January, when they were eliminated in the group stage after only one point from three games.
Following a 1-0 loss to Morocco in their Group C opener, Ghana drew 1-1 with Gabon before losing 3-2 to debutants Comoros in their final group game.

Despite their World Cup qualification triumph, the four-time African Cup of Nations champions have won none of their previous six matches, drawing three and losing three since a 1-0 victory against South Africa in November 2021.
Otto Addo’s side, on the other hand, will fancy their chances of breaking the drought when they return home, where they have gone unbeaten in eight games in a row, with six victories and two draws since their last defeat in 2020.

Ghana vs Madagascar – Betting Analysis

Madagascar, on the other hand, will be looking to make their second appearance at the continental showpiece, following their first appearance in 2019, when they advanced to the quarter-finals before falling to Tunisia.
After collecting up eight points from six games to finish third in Group K of the qualifications, one point behind second-placed Ethiopia, the Barea narrowly missed out on a spot in the 2022 edition.

Madagascar enters Wednesday’s match after a poor World Cup qualifying campaign in which they finished bottom of Group J, seven points behind group champions Congo DR.
Nicolas Dupuis’s team only won one game, drew one, and lost four of their six games for a total of four points, scoring four goals and conceding nine.
Madagascar is winless in all but one of their 11 games in all competitions, with three wins.
