Georgia vs Bulgaria – A 3-0 win over North Macedonia maintained Georgia’s flawless start to current UEFA Nations League (UNL) campaign (W3) and they now sit unbeaten in eight matches (W7, D1). For the first time since an unbeaten run of 10 games that ended in March 2011, they’ll go into this matchup against Bulgaria with confidence after thrashing them 5-2 in the reverse fixture earlier this month.

Even more astounding is the fact that they have only ever lost one UNL game on home turf and that they have won each of their previous three home internationals “to zero” (W4, D2). Interestingly, two of the four goals surrendered came in the 33rd minute, while the other two came in the 85th minute!

Georgia vs Bulgaria – Betting Analysis

After a 5-2 H2H defeat, Bulgaria’s 2022/23 UNL campaign (D2, L1) was a complete failure, despite their overall H2H advantage (W4, D1, L2). Bulgaria’s promotion ambitions have dwindled since then, as they were held to a 1-1 tie by lowly Gibraltar on June 9 despite controlling possession.

Realistically, the team is fighting for survival in League C, after relegation from League B last season. They haven’t won a game on foreign soil since September 2018 (D9, L12). For the last five matches on foreign soil, Bulgaria has only trailed at half-time once (HT: W2, D2), but they went on to lose all of them (D2, L3).

With eight goals in his past eight games, Georgia’s Kvaratskhila is one of the players to keep an eye on. His five goals prior to half-time, four of which opened the scoring, are particularly noteworthy. Bulgaria’s hopes may lie with Kiril Despodov, who tallied their sole goal of the game in three of their last five encounters.
