Check Out “Erik ten Hag has declined to comment on Rasmus Hojlund as Manchester United attempt to complete a £72million move for the striker.” Atalanta agreed to that amount this week, and the Red Devils want to announce the deal next week.

Ten Hag would not discuss that arrangement or the 20-year-old Dane.

“I can’t talk about this player in this moment because I’m a long time in football and I know first we need signings,” said Ten Hag, who usually keeps his cards close to his breast.

“For now, we must remain calm and let the professionals work.”

Hojlund’s arrival will bring United’s summer spending to £162.8m, which may rise to £179.2m if the stipulations in the three arrivals’ contracts are reached after Mason Mount and Andre Onana’s signings.

“We are building a project,” Ten Hag said. We want trophies.

“And, so we have to invest in the way of play, in the team, and our focus is not on one player.

“We need to find or improve players.

“Many players improved last season. I hope we can raise individual levels again.”

The spending of Saudi Arabia is not a concern for the Premier League, according to Erik ten Hag.

The manager of Manchester United is adamant that England will always be the top destination for players, despite the danger posed by the extremely wealthy Middle East, which has drawn great players like Cristiano Ronaldo and a host of others to the Saudi Pro League.

The Saudis, according to Man City manager Pep Guardiola, have altered the market, but United manager Ten Hag does not believe this has an impact on the English top division.

The Dutchman remarked, “I think it has an influence in Europe because there is some money over there and it will draw players.

But since the Premier League is the league that the big players want to play in, I don’t see that as a problem right now for the league.

“That is not in a league with the United States or Saudi Arabia.”
