Cody Gakpo has been filmed distributing food to children in his father’s home country of Togo.

On TikTok, a video of the Liverpool and Netherlands forward relaxing in the west African nation where some of his ancestors still live was posted.

Gakpo earlier stated that he wanted to visit Togo in 2019, but his calendar was too full and the COVID outbreak prevented him from going until now.

The 24-year-old said in a statement to Elf Voetbal at the time: “My older brother has traveled to Togo, exactly like my little brother. Simply not me yet.

“Visiting Togo is still at the top of my travel want list. But locating the moment… Planning a longer vacation is challenging for a football player, especially an international.
