Cremonese vs Sampdoria – In a critical matchup between two Serie A (SA) strugglers who have yet to record their first victories of the season, Cremonese welcomes Sampdoria. For the first time since 1995/1996, Cremonese (D4, L6) are playing at this level. Surprisingly, they also lost all ten of their opening games in Serie A (SA) during that time period. The hosts’ 2-1 home triumph that season marked their 11th attempt to win, which is encouraging for them.

If the Grigiorossi lose, it will be the first time in their history that they have lost their first 11 league games. It will also be the first time at this level that they have lost three straight SA games at home. However, Massimiliano Alvini’s team has shown indications of improvement lately, as evidenced by their midweek Coppa Italia victory at home against Modena, which resulted in just two losses in their previous seven competitive games (W1, D4).

Cremonese vs Sampdoria- Betting Analysis

Sampdoria is the team holding up the SA table since they have one more loss than their opponents (D3, L7). Due to the team’s dismal start to the season, Marco Giampaolo was fired as coach at the beginning of the month and was replaced by Dejan Stankovi. The Blucerchiati defeated Serie B team Ascoli this week, giving him his first Coppa Italia victory, although the fact that they won on penalties won’t have given them much confidence.

Stankovi would have rather to see his team score, though, as scoring has been a problem for them thus far in the season. The lowest scoring rate in the division has been achieved by Sampdoria, who have scored just five goals in their first ten league games. In each of their last three away visits from South Africa, they have at least managed to score, going in front twice, even if both of those games in which they scored first ended in defeat.

Watch out for: Cyriel Dessers, who wants to become the first Cremonese player to score in three consecutive SA games since June 1995. Sampdoria midfielder Abdelhamid Sabiri, who entered the round with 22 more SA fouls than any other player, will try to stop him. However, he hasn’t had a caution since gameweek five.
