Check out “Boniface seeks record fifth Bundesliga Rookie of the Month.” Super Eagles and Bayer Leverkusen striker Victor Boniface wants a record sixth Bundesliga Rookie of the Month.

The Bundesliga named Boniface one of three December award nominees. Other nominees include Freiburg’s Merlin Röhl and RB Leipzig’s Xavi Simons.

Boniface might win a record fifth straight after another great December. He won the August, September, October, and November rookie awards this season.

December saw the Nigerian striker score three goals and offer two assists to help Leverkusen stay unbeaten in all competitions.

His performances for his German club earned him a spot in the Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire. The Super Eagles training camp in Abu Dhabi hurt him, thus Terem Moffi replaced him.
