Manchester City have extended Nathan Ake’s contract through 2027.

The international player from the Netherlands has extended his previous contract by two years, committing to the team at Etihad Stadium for an additional four years.

During City’s historic 2022–23 season, which saw them win the treble, Ake played a key role, making 41 appearances across all competitions.

I have no doubts that this is the best club in the world, the 28-year-old stated. Every single day, playing for Manchester City makes me feel immensely proud.

“It’s a football club that demands perfection in all facets, which creates the ideal setting for improvement. It motivates me and helps me get better. I want to advance in my profession at this point, and this place is a great place to achieve that.

“To be able to work with Pep for a longer period of time is a tremendous honor. He is the best manager in football and a genius who has changed the way I view the game. I owe him a huge debt of gratitude for all that he has done, both personally and professionally.

The manager of Brighton, Roberto De Zerbi, acknowledges that Moises Caicedo might leave this summer.

Chelsea has made several sizable offers that the Seagulls have turned down, most recently one for £80 million.

The Blues’ ability to pay Brighton’s £100 million asking price is still up in the air, but De Zerbi insists he is not unduly worried about the midfielder’s future.

“If Caicedo departs, we’ll replace him with a major player. I will be extremely glad if Caicedo stays with us, De Zerbi stated following Newcastle’s 2-1 setback in the United States.

But choosing who enters and departs the club is not my responsibility.

The transfer market is not my concern. Earlier in the news conference, De Zerbi noted.

“I need a couple more players, so I hope we can bring them. But if we part with somebody, we’ll bring in new, strong competitors.
