Athletico PR vs Libertad – Athletico Paranaense will visit Club Libertad at Estadio Joaquim Americo Guimaraes on Tuesday in the Copa Libertadores round of 16.

A fascinating and nerve-racking matchup is in store after they met twice in the group stages and split the points with one victory each. Luiz Felipe Scolari’s Athletico Paranaense have progressed to the quarterfinals of the Copa Libertadores despite only winning one of their first four games.

Despite losing three of their six Group B matches, the Brazilian side finished second in the rankings with a goal difference of just one goal behind Group A winners Club Libertad.

On May 26, Pablo scored two goals and set up another to give them a 5-1 win against Caracas in the group stage of the competition. It was the first victory in three weeks for the team, which had been beaten badly by The Strongest in Bolivia’s Estadio Hernando Siles, including a 5-0 drubbing.

In their previous 11 games in all competitions, Athletico Paranaense have won eight and drew three, after losing 2-1 to Fluminense in the Brazilian Serie A on May 15.

The Furacao are currently third in Serie A, four points behind Palmeiras. Club Libertad needed a 4-1 win over The Strongest to advance in the Copa Libertadores.

On May 3, the Paraguayan team lost 1-0 to Caracas before falling 2-0 to Athletico Paranaense two weeks later, giving them seven points in their first three games of the season.

Athletico PR vs Libertad – Betting Analysis

On a six-game winning streak in all competitions, the Gumarelo Repollero have racked up five victories and one tie while netting 12 goals and keeping four clean sheets since Tuesday’s group-stage setback to the hosts.

A 7-point lead over second-placed Cerro Porteno means that Club Libertad have won each of their past three games – all of which were played in the Paraguayan Primera Division, where they are currently unbeaten in 16 of their last 17.

Daniel Garnero’s team hopes to advance further in the Copa Libertadores, but they must overcome their road woes, as they have won only one of their three games abroad this season, drawing one and losing three.

However, Athletico Paranaense, who have won all three of their home matches in the Confederations Cup and are unbeaten in their last nine games in all competitions, awaits in the next round.
