After taking over at Stamford Bridge, the newly appointed manager of the Blues, Mauricio Pochettino, will have to make up for lost time as soon as the formal start of the summer transfer market arrives.

After committing several gaffes both on and off the field, Chelsea finished in the abysmal 12th place in the Premier League, which is their lowest finish in the league since the 1993–1994 season.

Pochettino will be eager to bring in his own players to put his stamp on an already enormous squad, but that may mean that numerous high-profile talents will be moving on to other teams.

Brighton believe Moises Caicedo is worth at least as much as Declan Rice, talkSPORT understands.

The Premier League team Chelsea is among the favorites to sign Caicedo, but the Ecuadorian’s current contract, which he signed earlier this year, does not have a release clause. Caicedo is a favorite to join with Chelsea, but his current deal prevents him from doing so.

West Ham places a value of £120 million on Rice, while Brighton is of the opinion that Caicedo is on par with the ability level of the England midfielder.

Chelsea are poised to sign Nicolas Jackson from Villarreal, talkSPORT understands.

If the Blues want to make striker Jackson the first player that Mauricio Pochettino has brought in, it is possible that they will have to go up against a number of other Premier League sides for his services.

There is a release provision in Jackson’s contract that is worth thirty million pounds, and personal arrangements have already been made with the Senegalese international star.

The player, who was 21 years old at the time, came quite close to signing with Bournemouth in January, but he was unable to pass the necessary medical checks.

Arsenal’s opening bid for Chelsea forward Kai Havertz has been rejected.

According to sources provided to talkSPORT, Chelsea received an offer from Arsenal yesterday afternoon in the shape of a first official proposal to purchase Havertz.

The Blues, on the other hand, have indicated that they are not interested in that offer and have instead requested a price of £75 million for the German international.

It is possible that the Gunners will make a second offer to Havertz since the Gunners are hopeful that the player’s unwillingness to sign a new deal will result in a decrease in the asking price of the player.
