After winning 2-0 against the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon, Jose Peseiro’s team rested on Sunday before returning to the pitch on Monday night. The Police College in Cocody served as the training venue.

Towards the end of training, the Super Eagles practiced shooting and penalty kicks, aware of what was next. The most successful players were Iheanacho and Omeruo, who scored every spot kick.

During the current 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, Omeruo has made three appearances for the Super Eagles. However, Iheanacho has not yet played for the three-time African champions in the match.

The Super Eagles will carry on practicing in anticipation of their Tuesday (today) matchup with Angola. Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium in Abidjan will host the encounter against the Black Antelopes on Friday.

Departure from Old Trafford

Young player Facundo Pellistri of Manchester United is expected to finish his loan move out of the team. Prior to joining La Liga team Granada, the 22-year-old Uruguayan has reportedly traveled to Spain, per Fabrizio Romano.

According to reports, the two teams have been in negotiations for most of January over a deal that would have seen the highly-rated young player spend the remainder of the season on loan with the struggling team, who are currently 19th in the top flight of Spain.

There is no way to make the changeover permanent; it’s just a straight borrowing arrangement. Despite playing in 14 United games this season, Pellistri has only started one Premier League match, the Red Devils’ home loss against Crystal Palace.

In the year 2020, he made the move from the Uruguayan team Penarol to Old Trafford. In the past, he had spent two stints on loan with Alaves, which played in La Liga.
