However, according to the Daily Mail, Southgate may step down after the World Cup finals in Germany in 2020, and Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, is one of the candidates to succeed him.
According to the story, the FA is “open” to considering a move for Guardiola, who some believe would be a “dream” hire for the organization that governs English football.
According to reports, before leaving for Qatar with Eddie Howe and Graham Potter, FA technical director John McDermott met with colleagues to examine possible Southgate replacements.
Howe, on the other hand, was having great success with Newcastle, while Potter had just been named Chelsea’s manager.
According to the source, other candidates for the job included current Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino and former Tottenham manager Brendan Rodgers, although Southgate staying was always the favoured option.
Howe, Potter, Rodgers, and Pochettino are still candidates, according to the Mail, when Southgate’s contract expires at the end of the following year.
Guardiola, who has had great success as the manager of City, Bayern Munich, and Barcelona, is another someone the FA is interested in “testing the water” with.

In light of the authorities starting an inquiry into him, Manchester United player Antony has refuted additional allegations of domestic abuse against his ex-girlfriend.
Influencer and DJ Gabriela Cavallin has reported Antony to the authorities in both their home country of Brazil and in England. The inquiries continue.

The alleged incident took place on May 8, the day following Man United’s 1-0 loss at West Ham.
