Zalgiris vs Pyunik Yerevan – Algiris may begin to concentrate more on the UEFA Europa Conference League given that they have five games to play before their closest rival and a comfortable nine-point advantage at the top of their domestic A Lyga (UECL).

The Lithuanians’ performance in Europe hasn’t been great, as evidenced by their winless group stage record (D1, L2). As a result, a win versus Pyunik Yerevan is probably essential if they want to keep their chances of advancing to the knockout stages of Europe alive.

The Lithuanian Football Cup final between Hegelmann Litauen and Algiris on Sunday provides them with even another diversion from their European schedule since their home league is almost over. That might cause manager Vladimir Cheburin to reorganize his squad a little, but given that they have won two and lost three of their last six home European games, it might be unwise to do so when Algiris could salvage their European campaign with a win.

Zalgiris vs Pyunik Yerevan – Betting Analysis

Pyunik Yerevan may be shocked to find themselves seven points off the league lead this season after winning a record 15 Armenian Premier League championships. The current joint-leaders in Group H are aware that another victory over algiris, following a 1-0 win in the rematch last week, may see them take outright top if coupled with a favorable outcome in the Basel game. At least their UECL group stage campaign has acted as somewhat of a remedy (W2, L1).

It’s difficult to imagine Pyunik upholding their half of the agreement, though, given that they haven’t won in the first 90 minutes of any of their last five away games (D1, L4). Pyunik’s coach Yegishe Melikyan will likely place addressing that sputtering away run high on his list of responsibilities, but by making their European group stage debut this season, Pyunik have already accomplished something that will go down in history.

Players to keep an eye on include Mathias Oyewusi, who scored the goal that advanced Algiris to their domestic cup final and has scored two game-opening goals in Europe this season. In the UECL this season, Artak Dashyan has been Pyunik’s lone away goal scorer, and all three of his goals have been game-openers.
