Uruguay vs Peru – Tomorrow morning, new Uruguay manager Diego Alonso will look to maintain his perfect record in charge when his team hosts Peru in a crucial six-pointer in South American World Cup Qualifications.

The two teams are tied for fourth and fifth place in the CONMEBOL World Cup Qualifying standings, separated by just one point and with only two games remaining.

On paper, the Peruvians have an easier fixture in the final Matchday (at home against Paraguay, who have already eliminated themselves from qualification), and they would likely be content with a point against the in-form Uruguayans.

Uruguay had a disappointing campaign overall, but they broke into the top four thanks to back-to-back wins over Paraguay and Venezuela in the previous window (in late-January and early-February).

Alonso’s men have conceded just one goal throughout the process, and it was a consolation goal following a 4-0 victory over Venezuela in the previous Gameweek.

Peru have also been successful in their last two matches this year, earning four points against Colombia (a 1-0 road victory) and third-placed Ecuador (a 1-1 draw at home).

The team, led by Argentine manager Ricardo Gareca, is now undefeated in six consecutive matches, including two January friendlies against CONCACAF members Panama and Jamaica.

Uruguay vs Peru – Betting Analysis

In 2019, these two teams met in the Copa America quarterfinals, with Peru advancing on penalties following a goalless draw in the regular 90 minutes and extra time.

Given the significance of the match, both teams’ recent defensive form, and their recent head-to-head record, we anticipate a very tight game tomorrow, with one or possibly no goals making the difference. Under 1.5 goals FT will be our primary wager at 2.62 odds, but you can also wager on a goalless draw at 6.50 odds.
