Update on Frenkie de Jong from Barcelona:

Manchester United Transfer news- Frenkie de Jong is still being sought after by Manchester United, but the Reds may finally know if he will sign before the transfer window closes.

Raphinha scored the lone goal against rival Real Madrid on Sunday morning as the Dutchman was once more used out of position in Xavi’s side. Despite De Jong’s position on staying at Camp Nou, Barca’s financial problems are still very much a concern.

United drew 2-2 with Aston Villa on Saturday to cap off their tour of Thailand and Australia. Ten Hag can be upbeat after his first four games in charge despite allowing a two-goal advantage to slip.

Throughout the tour, there were a ton of standout performers. One Ronaldo-sized problem still exists, though.

Update on Frenkie de Jong from Barcelona

According to reports, Barcelona offered Frenkie de Jong a cash settlement to encourage his potential summer transfer to United.

De Jong continues to be a top target in talks between the two clubs that have been ongoing for about three months.

However, after De Jong gave Barcelona a lifeline during the Covid-19 pandemic, the pursuit came to a halt due to unpaid wages. According to The Independent, steps have been taken to address that issue.

Despite denying claims that Frenkie de Jong could be sold based solely on financial considerations, Barcelona president Joan Laporta acknowledges that a number of players on the team will be transferred during the summer transfer window.

After United announced deals for Tyrell Malacia, Christian Eriksen, and Lisandro Martinez as part of their rebuild, De Jong, 25, is still Erik ten Hag’s top priority. Although the clubs initially agreed on a price for the player, their ongoing pursuit of De Jong has not been easy.
