Guys and women, it’s the news we’ve all been waiting for. Update on Dave the cat, a popular pet in England!
The amiable feline gained notoriety at the World Cup in Qatar and quickly gained popularity at the Three Lions’ training facility where the stray cat was allowed to roam freely.
John Stones and Kyle Walker, who said they would adopt Dave if England won the World Cup, became close friends with him.
Of course, France eventually knocked us out of the quarterfinals, but our England players didn’t give up on Dave, who was instead adopted by a Three Lions staff member.
The cat was adopted by FA media operations manager Anna Bush and her family, who told PA: “My kids are over the moon. There was a conversation about wanting Dave to end up with a family with young children, so I put my hand up and volunteered.
They’ve never owned a pet before, and what a wonderful first pet!
“They [the players] are conscious and happy. He has a family to care for him and a new house.
Just two hours after the England team returned from the World Cup in December, Dave departed Qatar for the UK. Prior to going to his new permanent home, he underwent immediate blood workups and vaccines at a veterinary clinic and spent some time in quarantine.
Bush continued, “He has blended in so beautifully.
He is settling in and absolutely adores seeing my two boys play football in the garden. He loves the environment and how it looks in the light.
“One of them actually colored both crests prior to the Champions League and wanted Man City to win so he added a few treats (on the City crest). Dave then prophesied that Man City would win the Champions League final, and they did!
“Now we have to start doing that for the Women’s World Cup, I suppose – bring on England on Saturday.”
