Cristiano Ronaldo’s son may have given an important clue about the Portuguese forward’s possible future.

The striker unexpectedly requested to leave Manchester United earlier this summer, citing the team’s lack of Champions League competition as a major factor in his decision.

Since then, Ronaldo has been linked to a number of teams. Some of the clubs said to be considering a summer swoop for the five-time Ballon d’Or winner include Bayern Munich, Chelsea, and Paris Saint-Germain. Surprisingly, Atletico Madrid is the most recent team to be associated with his talents. According to reports in Spain, Diego Simeone is attempting to build on Los Rojiblancos’ prior success by bringing in experienced forward Luis Suarez, a former frontman for Liverpool.

Mateo, the youngest son of Ronaldo, appears to have made a very strong signal about a possible transfer to the Santiago Bernabeu rather than to Atletico’s Wanda Metropolitano. All of Ronaldo’s children were seen in a video posted by TikTok user @Morong10 attending a Rosalia concert with longtime partner Georgina Rodriguez at the WiZink Center in Madrid.

Mateo chose to wear a Real Madrid jersey to the concert, which raised questions about his outfit. Naturally, Ronaldo had nine incredibly fruitful years with the Spanish powerhouses.
Over the course of nine seasons, he made 436 appearances for Los Blancos, scoring 446 goals, and leading the team to four Champions League triumphs as well as two La Liga crowns.

The 37-year-old has previously said that he misses Madrid more than Manchester and has frequently voiced his love for Real Madrid. While still a member of the Juventus team, he remarked in 2019: “Madrid is a city that marked me a lot, not just on football, but also on a personal level. I was marked by the club. I have a very unique fondness for Madrid because I spent nine years playing for Real Madrid.

“I mourn them both, but Madrid is where I spent the majority of my time; both my girl and my children were reared here. More than Manchester, I miss Madrid,” he concluded.
