Nice vs Partizan – A bottom-half finish after 12 Ligue 1 rounds was certainly not the start Nice had hoped for, especially following their 1-1 stalemate with Nantes on Sunday at home, which means they have now won only one of their previous five league games (D2, L2). In the UEFA Europa Conference League (UECL) this season, Lucien Favre’s team has at least been able to find solace in the possibility to join next opponents Partizan Belgrade at the top of Group D with a victory here.

The Eaglets have only won twice in their last nine competitive games played at the Allianz Riviera (D3, L4). Additionally, their last four group stage home matches in Europe have all resulted in a loss (D1, L3). Given that Nice has scored goals in all nine of their home group stage games in Europe, Favre may decide to take a more cautious, defensive-focused strategy.

Nice vs Partizan – Betting Analysis

A Partizan team, who defeated Cologne 3-0 on aggregate during their two previous group matches, will be standing in their way. Partizan is one of only five clubs currently unbeaten in the UECL group stage this season (W2, D2). The eight-time defending champions of Serbia are also in excellent domestic form this year (W10, D4, L1), but a discouraging 3-3 home draw to Javor, which they led 3-1 until the 71st minute, halted their seven-game winning streak in the Serbian Super League.

Despite the incredible fact that this was the Belgrade club’s 27th consecutive season of qualifying for Europe, coach Gordan Petri’s team heads to the French Riviera knowing that a draw would be enough to secure knockout football in European competition for just the third time ever if the other game in the group is also drawn. Although they know that a victory would seal them as group champions, they have struggled to accumulate away points on the international scene, and their three losses from their past four trips to France (D1) imply that next week’s final group game against Slovácko could be key.

Players to keep an eye on: Nicolas Pépé, who scored the game-winning goal in Nice’s lone group stage victory and is coming off a weekend Ligue 1 penalty goal, has scored the game-winning goal in three of his four goal-scoring appearances this season. In contrast, Ricardo Gomes had four goals in Partizan’s last four UECL away games, three of which came after the 60-minute mark.
