Marc Cucurella replaces Zinchenko for £30m+.

After Oleksandr Zinchenko signed with Arsenal earlier this month, the Premier League winners are looking to replace him with a new player. And Pep Guardiola has made Cucurella, 24, one of his top priorities.

Brighton quickly turned down Man City’s initial £30 million approach because the Seagulls had set a £50 million price tag on the player. It has been reported, however, that an agreement has been made between Cucurella and City. The Spaniard is quite eager to make the switch.

The final issue is the transfer fee, with which Brighton has not yet reached an agreement. I am told that the player is not satisfied,” transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano remarked on the Here We Go podcast. A transfer to Manchester City is something the footballer has long desired.

When Pep Guardiola called, he wanted nothing more than to make the move to Manchester City, the club he had always dreamed of playing for since joining Brighton.

Cucurella was a major reason why Brighton had their finest Premier League season ever and finished in ninth place. And given Brighton’s general stance on player sales, I’d expect them to eventually let the fullback go.

Recently, Brighton’s technical director David Weir said, “It’s crucial in recruitment that players know they may leave the club and go on to better teams than Brighton.

That said, “what we do” is paramount, and “if at some moment it is right for the club and the individual wants to leave,” then “I think that will have to be a part of the process as well.”

So far this summer, Man City has added four players (Erling Haaland, Julian Alvarez, Stefan Ortega, and Kalvin Phillips). On Saturday, Guardiola’s squad will play Liverpool in the Community Shield before playing West Ham away on Sunday, August 7.
