Luton vs Newport -Luton Town will attempt to secure their first victory of the year when they welcome Newport County in the first round of the EFL Cup on Tuesday after drawing their first two games of the year.

The visitors, however, have lost both of their opening two games and are still looking for their first victory of the year.

After making the playoffs last year, Luton will aim for the top six again. They opened with a scoreless draw against Birmingham City before travelling to Turf Moor on Saturday.

Dan Potts gave the Hatters the lead in the fifth minute, but Josh Brownhill’s equaliser in the second half meant Luton would have to be content with a draw.

Luton will now focus on Tuesday’s cup match after two straight draws, with the hosts hoping to avoid losing in the first round for the second consecutive year.

Luton can draw motivation from the fact that in the two campaigns prior to the current one, they advanced from the first round.

Luton vs Newport – Betting Analysis

The Exiles have yet to record a victory this year, and like Tuesday’s opponents, they have only earned one point in their first two league contests.

In their season-opening match against Sutton United, they fell behind in the 24th minute, but Omar Bogle equalised before halftime to secure a point for his team.

Luton Town can’t use Louie Watson and Fred Onyedinma due to injuries. Tom Lockyer and Reece Burke may start Tuesday’s EFL Cup game if Jones rests many players.

Carlton Morris may move into the forward line, and Cauley Woodrow is another candidate to play in the front two. For the visitors, Declan Drysdale, Matt Dolan, and Demetriou might form a back three going forward.

James Rowberry, though, might make a few adjustments. Nick Townsend is expected to be replaced in goal by Joe Day, and James Waite might start in midfield.

Bogle may keep his spot in the frontline despite failing to score on Saturday after scoring in the league’s first game.
