Lazio play host to struggling Crotone in the Serie A at the Stadio Olimpico this Friday having lost to Juventus in their last match in the league. They will be looking to bounce back as they keep up the chase for a Champions League spot finish. Simone Inzaghi may not appear to be feeling the heat base of the team’s performance, but he will be conscious of the fact that their performance must improve if they are to avoid slipping further behind, and he will be hoping his side can turn their fortunes around immediately against their bottom placed opposition.
Crotone ended a miserable run of seven consecutive Serie A defeats when they won 4-2 at home to fellow strugglers Torino last weekend. . Nigeria international Simy Nwankwo was the hero on that occasion with a brace to ensure a much needed win. Although they picked all three points in that game, it did not help their position on the table as the still sit bottom of the pile.
Lazio has been victorious three times in the last five meetings between the two teams with Crotone winning once and one game ending in a draw. It is interesting to note that despite the vast gap on the league table, both teams have lost four times in their last five matches.
Three players are ruled out through injury for as defenders Stefan Radu (calf) and Luiz Felipe (hernia) , and midfielder Manuel Lazzari (calf) sidelined. For Crotone, Luca Cigarini (muscle) and Ahmad Benali (thigh) will also have no part in the game.
