The Wanderers’ 2-1 loss to Leeds on opening day confirmed the fears of their fans from the preseason about a lack of offensive depth.

It has been reported that the transfer fee for the Portugal star will be £27.5m plus add-ons. The 25-year-old is expected to fly to England today for a medical examination and contract signing.

The winger/forward has scored 36 goals in 178 games for the La Liga powerhouses. The 21-year-old Guedes will become Wolves’ second summer signing after the £20 million acquisition of Burnley centre back Nathan Collins last month.

Molineux could have a busy week of transfers this month, with captain Conor Coady likely leaving for Everton. The Toffees need reinforcements after Ben Godfrey broke his leg against Chelsea on Saturday, and Football Daily reports that the England star will be moving on loan with an option to buy.
