Red Star Belgrade has easily won a new title in Serbia this season. they finished the championship with 108 points, 13 in addition to their great rival, Partizan. Dejan Stankovic’s team finished the championship undefeated, with an impressive ranking: 35 wins and only three draws. Steaua Rosie has three consecutive victories, all in score, 6-1 with Zlatibor Cajetina, 5-0 with Backa Palanka and 5-1 with Metalac, and 17 successes in the last 18 games played.
They also qualified for the Cup final after beating Zlatibor Cajetina, Rad Belgrade, IMT Novi Belgrade and Radnik Surdulica. Two of the successes, with Rad and Radnik, were at the limit, 2-1. Red Star was eliminated last season in the Cup by Partizan, in the semifinals with a 0-1 scoreline. They have 24 Cups in club record, but they have not won the trophy since 2012.
Partizan hopes to win the Cup, as a consolation prize for the new season in which they had no chance in the championship against their rival. Although they collected 95 points, 21 over the 3rd place, Cucaricki. Partizan Belgrade lost in the last stage, 0-1 to Mladost Lucani, after previously tying eight victories, in all competitions.
They have no less than 27 victories in the last 29 matches, in which they lost only twice, with Steaua Rosie and Mladost Lucani. Partizan qualified for the Cup final after eliminating Backa Palanka, Metalac, Vozdovac and Vojvodina. Last season they eliminated Steaua Rosie in the semifinals, but lost the final to Vojvodina Novi Sad, after a tie. However, they have won the cup four times, between 2016 and 2019.
