Arsenal vs Manchester City – Preview, and Prediction

Arsenal vs Manchester City – On Sunday afternoon at Emirates Stadium, Arsenal and Manchester City will square off in the most tantalizing rivalry of the season to kick off Gameweek No. 8.

After Man City’s surprise away loss to Wolves last weekend, there is currently just one point separating the two teams.

The Citizens recovered on Wednesday night in the UEFA Champions League with a significant victory over RB Leipzig.

That was not, however, their best performance of the season. Julian Alvarez’s stunning late-game goal gave his team the victory on German soil, but Pep Guardiola needed more than just Alvarez magic to make it happen.

With eight goals in just seven games this season, Erling Haaland is the Premier League’s leading scorer.

It would be fascinating to watch if the Norwegian superstar can rebuild confidence with a great performance in one of the hardest games of the season, given that his recent performances have been far from perfect.

However, in one of the biggest games of the year, Arsenal may be missing their great player, Bukayo Saka. Saka, an English young player, took multiple consecutive knocks in recent games, but Mikel Arteta refused to give up.

Saka sustained an injury during the first half of this week’s UEFA Champions League match in Lens, and we do not think he will play versus City on Sunday.

Saka’s probable absence would be a severe setback to the Gunners, who are already without Gabriel Martinelli due to injury.

Arsenal vs Manchester City – Betting Analysis

Manchester City defeated Arsenal in both of their meetings from the previous season with ease, scoring seven goals in the process. In their past nine matches against Arsenal, the Citizens have eight victories and one draw.

All but one of the last five meetings between these rivals have resulted in goals at both ends, including the Community Shield match from this year in August (a 1-1 draw that Arsenal won on penalties).

The possibility of Bukayo Saka being out would be devastating to Arsenal’s hopes of winning this match. We still have a lot more faith in Manchester City in this game, even if he does feature.

What are the top odds for the game?
