The Portuguese forward had requested to leave Old Trafford in order to play in the Champions League; Man Utd’s regular season kicks off on August 7 against Brighton, live on Sky Sports.

Cristiano Ronaldo is back in Manchester and is scheduled to meet with Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, on Tuesday to discuss his future.

In preparation for talks about his future, the 37-year-old arrived at United’s Carrington training facility on Tuesday morning with his agent Jorge Mendes. Sir Alex Ferguson, a former United manager, was also seen arriving.


After missing the team’s preseason tour of Thailand and Australia due to family obligations, Ronaldo took a flight back to the UK on Monday. The club accepted his justification. Ten Hag admitted he was unclear over the situation ahead of the tour – but Ronaldo will now start training with the club on Tuesday after training away from the squad in recent weeks. The club’s position on Ronaldo’s future has not changed. According to Sky Sports News, United is open to hearing offers for Ronaldo this summer, but the club’s official position continues to be that he is not for sale. Ronaldo, whose United contract has one year left, is in Ten Hag’s plans for the upcoming season, and Ten Hag expects him to stay at the club, Ten Hag stated in Bangkok.
