Veteran Nollywood performer Jim Iyke has received a chieftaincy title in Ghana.

HRH Dr. Chuwudi J. Ihenetu, Ezi Ndibgo Ghana, bestowed the title “OHADIKE 1 OF NDIGBO” upon the movie star.

On the occasion of the 10th Yam Festival, the actor received the chieftaincy title.

The actor was honored for his outstanding accomplishments and contributions to the African entertainment sector and the Igbo people, according to HRH Dr. Chuwudi J Ihenetu.

Jim Iyke now joins the group of well-known Nigerians who have received chieftaincy titles.

Several Nigerian celebrities were awarded chieftaincy titles in 2018, including the music artist D’banj and reality TV star Teddy A.

The Kabiyesi Oliyere of Iyere Owo awarded Teddy A the chieftaincy title of Asojuomo of Iyere Owo. D’banj, meantime, was given the honorific title of “Enyi Ka Nwanne” of the Amuzi Obowol Autonomous Community in Imo State.

Celebrities Noble Igwe, a media personality, and Alexx Ekubo, a Nollywood actor, are among those who have been appointed red cap chiefs. Eze Umara 3 of Amumara Town, Mbais bestowed to Ekubo the title of “Ikuku Of Amumara Town, Mbaise.”
