Cristiano Ronaldo – Has launched a remarkable attack against Manchester United and manager Erik ten Hag, saying he feels “betrayed” by the team and that he does not “have respect” for Ten Hag.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Ten Hag

Since Ten Hag’s arrival during the summer, the 37-year-old has slipped down the pecking order, and throughout the January transfer window, he has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford.

After refusing to play as a substitute against Tottenham Hotspur and departing Old Trafford early in the game, Ronaldo was dismissed from the first-team squad and sent to practise with the reserves last month.

Three of his four Premier League starts this season have come after his public falling-out with the Dutch manager, thanks to Ten Hag, who has now brought him back from the wilderness.

However, just after the Red Devils’ penultimate game before the World Cup break, Ronaldo sharply criticised the club, his manager, and Ralf Rangnick, his old boss, in an explosive interview with Piers Morgan.

When asked by Morgan if he thought the team was attempting to get rid of him, Ronaldo replied, “Yes. not just the instructor, but also the other two or three male club members. I felt duped.

To be completely honest, I’m not sure if I should say this, but I don’t care. The truth should be told to people. Yes, I do feel let down. Not just this year, but also the year before, some folks didn’t want me here.

“I have no idea what is happening. Since Sir Alex Ferguson left, the club has not changed, in my opinion. There was no progress.

“For instance, it’s fascinating to note that after a team like Manchester United fired Ole [Gunnar Solskjaer], they hired the baffling sports director Ralf Rangnick. He’s not even a coach, this man. Not only did the hiring of a sporting director by a major club like Manchester United surprise me, it astonished everyone.

“Nothing is altered. not only the pool, jacuzzi, or even the gym. Even certain technological aspects, the kitchen, and chefs are nice individuals who I admire. They abruptly cease, which greatly astonished me.

“I anticipated seeing new infrastructure and technological advancements. Unfortunately, we witness a lot of stuff that I usually don’t see till I’m 21, 22, or 23. It greatly startled me.”

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner refused to be silent when pressed about his relationship with Ten Hag and declared that he had no regard for his manager.

“He doesn’t treat me with respect, so I don’t respect him. I won’t ever have respect for you if you don’t have respect for me “Added he.

After the former England international criticised Ronaldo’s behaviour this season, Ronaldo’s former teammate Wayne Rooney was also the target of the Portuguese captain.

“I’m not sure why he criticises me so harshly, but it’s likely because he has ended his career while I am still a top player. Although it is true, I won’t claim that I look better than him “Rooney stated.

The former Real Madrid attacker reportedly wanted to play Champions League games elsewhere:

The former Real Madrid forward reportedly wanted to leave the team in the summer in order to play Champions League football this year, but Manchester United is rumoured to have prevented any departure.

Although Ronaldo’s interview on Sunday night would suggest that his situation at the club may now be untenable ahead of the January transfer window, his salaries are also regarded to be a barrier to any potential move elsewhere.

The most prolific international scorer of all time missed Man United’s final two matches before the World Cup break due to an illness, which was given as the official excuse.

But only hours after Alejandro Garnacho’s late goal gave the Red Devils a 2-1 victory over Fulham in the penultimate Premier League game before the break, he publicly criticised the club where he spent six of his formative years between 2003 and 2009.

Numerous teams, including Chelsea, Napoli, Paris Saint-Germain, and Atletico Madrid, were said to have been interested in signing Ronaldo throughout the summer. However, no deal happened, and Atletico and Napoli have since withdrawn their interest.

Ronaldo did receive a lucrative offer from Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal:

Sporting Lisbon, the club where Ronaldo spent his formative years, has also been mentioned, although the Portuguese team would not be able to support his salary without a hefty pay cut.

Although Ronaldo is eager to continue competing at the highest level in Europe, the Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal did make him a hefty offer during the summer.

The striker led Man United in goals scored last season with 24 in 38 games played in all competitions, but this season he has been restricted to a smaller role and has only scored three times in 16 games played.

However, one of those goals marked his 700th career goal for a club, a total that includes 145 during his two stints at Old Trafford.

Ronaldo has amassed 818 goals in 1,142 matches for club and country throughout the course of his long career. He has also won 32 titles, including five Champions Leagues and the 2016 European Championship for his nation.

In Qatar this winter, Ronaldo will try to add a World Cup trophy to his collection as Portugal was placed in Group H with Ghana, Uruguay, and South Korea.
