Bayern Munich vs. Cologne
02-27-21, 3:30 PM
Allianze Arena, Munich.
Bayern loss 2-1 to Frankfurt on matchday 22 of this Bundesliga season, however, they lead going into the new week with just two points. With 12 games remaining, anything seems possible, especially with Bayern specifically losing the first half 2-0 (after conceding inside the opening 15 minutes) in both of their league games since returning from the FIFA Club World Cup (CWC). Their defensive frailties have been exposed in recent times and especially since the end of the November international break, with their unbeaten home league record since that point (W4, D3)
Cologne started the week just three points clear of the relegation playoff place, having played a game more than Bielefeld who occupies that position. They will be looking to climb out of reach of their opponents in the bottom half of the table, but the opposition posed by the champions will be a huge mountain to climb.
Players to watch: Robert Lewandowski will look to continue his stunning goal scoring form for Bayern. Meanwhile, Cologne man Elvis Rexhbecaj will hope to get Bayern all shook up, after his brace at Gladbach earlier this month caused a major disruption amongst punters.
- Bayerns’ form in the last 5 League matches: WLDWW.
- Cologne’s form in the last 5 League matches: LLWLW.
PREDICTION: Home Win and Over 2.5
