Paris Saint-Germain stole two objectives for the Arsenal midfield in the space of a week, so Edu should devote all of his attention to the Youri Tielemans trade.

Youri Tielemans
As PSG prepared to finalize Arsenal’s desired £37 million double deal, Edu was forced into Youri Tielemans transfer.

As the summer transfer season enters its final stages, Arsenal must step up its chase of Youri Tielemans. After it appeared like Paris Saint-Germain was planning to take another midfield player who had been linked to the Gunners, signing the Belgian has become even more crucial.

Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano claims that PSG is getting close to signing Fabian Ruiz. Despite claims made earlier in the campaign by the Italian publication Corriere dello Sport in June that Arsenal are the club most interested in the Spanish international, this is the case. According to the rumors, he might be on sale for for £25 million.

PSG would be stealing a prospective Arsenal target for the second time in a week with this transfer. Arsenal must make a push for Tielemans as the window progressively closes in order to avoid losing out on the crucial depth in the middle of the park.

Last week, PSG also acquired Renato Sanches for a cost of €15 million (£12.5 million). Prior to the start of the summer transfer window, the north London team had been connected to Sanches, according to French news outlet Jeunes Footeux, which claimed that the Portuguese international has emerged as Mikel Arteta’s top objective for the summer.

The lack of depth and skill in the center of the pitch means that the Gunners will need to buy a midfielder. Tielemans would be available for £30m, according to a report from CBS Sports earlier in the season, which makes him an amazing steal to address Arsenal’s midfield issues.

The 24-year-old has played a significant role in Leicester’s recent Champions League run and has been a fixture in the Premier League for the last three seasons. Due to the midfielder’s strong performances, teams like Liverpool and Real Madrid have expressed interest in signing him.

His participation in 20 Champions League games, which demonstrates that he has the essential European experience, is more significant. This will be an added benefit for Arsenal as they strive to propel themselves into the top four.

Tielemans has made 212 tackles since the start of the 2019–2020 Premier League season, which places him ninth among all players in the competition. This is commendable for a midfielder who receives more criticism than praise for his efforts on the defensive side, and it also demonstrates why Arsenal should continue to pursue a deal to add Vieira to their roster.

However, a deal has not developed during this window. According to Sky Sports, Mikel Arteta’s team has ‘cooled’ their interest in Tielemans. The international player from Belgium will likely sign a one-year contract extension at the King Power Stadium now that his current term is scheduled to expire in a year, according to the source.

The same thing happened with Ramsdale during the previous summer’s transfer window, so this may not be Arsenal’s genuine goal. Tielemans would be a perfect addition for the Gunners, and given his low asking price, it would be surprising if Edu didn’t seal the deal.

Despite reports that the Gunners have lost interest in the midfielder, Edu should try to revive the agreement because the international from Belgium would be a good deal for the north London team. As has been the case with Sanches and Ruiz, assume Arsenal will continue to overlook prospective replacements for the Leicester midfielder. In that situation, Edu must sign Tielemans to avoid leaving Arteta with no other options in the middle of the park.
