Porto confirmed the 22-year-move old’s to Arsenal.

Arsenal will pay £40 million upfront for Vieira, with an additional £5 million in add-ons. Vieira cut short his vacation in Mykonos to join the Gunners. Last season, the aggressive midfielder helped Porto win its 30th league title.  Vieira, a talented offensive midfielder, helped Porto win the Portuguese title last season. The Portugal Under-21 international had a breakthrough season last year, scoring six goals and providing 14 assists in 27 league games for Porto.

Vieira will be Arsenal’s first summer signing.

Mikel Arteta wants midfielders and forwards for Arsenal. No Arsenal player had as many goals in 2021-22 as Vieira, who joins Emile Smith Rowe, Bukayo Saka, and Martin Odegaard. Arsenal’s Big Six competitors have strengthened swiftly, therefore Arteta’s signing of Vieira is a significant help. After missing the Champions League, Arteta wants to acquire attacking reinforcements.

Arsenal are also pursuing Manchester City‘s Gabriel Jesus and Leicester‘s Youri Tielemans. The Spaniard also wants Tielemans, but Arsenal and Leicester haven’t agreed on a fee. Tielemans stated he would’study his options in the summer’. The Gunners are chasing £50m-rated Jesus. Arsenal has offered £40-45m plus add-ons for Jesus, but the champions are staying strong.
